Superhilbo went to watch skateboarders over the weekend and see people falling off ramps and burst themselves. It went well and nobody went home badly hurt. In between she actually drew stuff on a huge cube in the place, along with some other comic heads - Deirdre de Barra, Ian Pettitt and Ben Hennessy! It was a ton of fun and the comic will be up in the next while. :)

Superhilbos PC left the building on the 13th December 2010. It was a sad day for all, it simply gave up. It leaves behind a flurry of panic as the realisation of possible lost files dawns. It also means a possible wilderness time frame of 3 weeks for blog posts due to lack of facilities to scan stuff.
Superhilbo will be looking for a ninja PC very, very soon!!

Superhilbo recently noticed that a large number of zombies have opted for sausages for their daily intake of meat. She reckons it is down to the large number of people simply clued in how to deter a zombie these days. Zombie robot is a new breed however, so we'll see how 6 week old sausages digest in his fridge!...(and yes he went to Amsterdam on holidays but only came back with one clog).

Phew! Been a busy little time for a Superhilbo lately as new stories for Issue 2 get underway! The kind people at Octocon have kindly asked Superhilbo to come as a guest, so with other well known names going to be there as guests, such as Alan Nolan, Albedo 1 and the Guest of Honour George RR Martin, I'm really chuffed to attend! : )
On a second note, myself and my good mate Dee, are now conducting Workshops in comics in the Trinity Arts Workshop on Pearse Street. It is a very basic introduction to the Indie and Manga style of comic, and we promise our enthusiasm will encourage you to draw regardless of your level of creative ability!! Drop in for a class on MONDAYS 3-5pm or 7-9pm (€4 for Trinity Students, €8 for everyone else)

Point Village Comic Festival 2010

The new Point Village Market which is due to open at the end of this month, will be hosting a brilliant event in June and are offering FREE TABLES for the event!
The Comic Festival will run for the Saturday 12th June, from 11am - 5.30pm in the market. It has a boast of talent attending it and will be a fantastic opportunity for people to really get a taste of the talent about in small press publishing.
Artists, illustrators and comic book publishers will be selling their creations.

Updates for Superhilbo - our pint sized hero had a busy saving period as there were quite a few heads lost in the snow...and when there's a promise of sausages as payment for rescue, Superhilbo and Roast Beef are happy to oblige. Ola! The first 10pages of the next Superhilbo! Adventure has surfaced...and were brought to life at the 24hr comic challenge back on the 17th Oct. The first 3 pages are up today, and the next 3 will be up by the weekend. Superhilbos new adventure begins with a new neighbour moving in with some odd ball behaviour. Spoilt Bratt is fond of D&G, smugg boots and anything shiney and glittery worth a small fortune. She doesn't do well waiting for delivery men to unload vans and likes to get her own way all the time. She doesn't like sausages or dogs, so we'll see how that fairs with her Superhilbo neighbour!

Superhilbo at the 24hr Comic Challenge!

Superhilbo came out of hiding and decided she would start off her next adventure there...look out for the first installment of the next set of stories, 'Blessed are the Cheesemakers', in the next week.
The first 12pages will also be featured as the 24hr Comic as they were completed during the challenge over the weekend of October 17th and 18th - although the challenge time was more like 8hrs instead of 24hrs!!...but the remaining 12pages will be completed in 16hrs and will be featured in part on this blogspot, and finally seen in print along with the rest of the stories due to be featured in Issue 2. (Issue 2 release date will be 2010 instead of Dec 2009 due to printing costs).

Going to Derry this weekend to launch Issue 1 of Superhilbo!, along with some great comics by the rest of the gang - Issue 2 of Long Stone Comics Anthology and 'Downpour' by Deirdre de Barra(artist) and Peter Loftus (writer). Superhilbo is well impressed by the talent emerging from the group, so she'll hold off on the whoop ass for the moment and celebrate by providing cocktail sausages from around the globe - Whee hee!

She is fond of 'Ninja Nutz' who arrives every now and again to kick some stuffin out of her couch, but as he is 'ninja' he is often not seen...indeed.
